West Ham United Sign Jean-Clair Todibo From OGC Nice

Premier League side West Ham United completed the signing of OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo earlier today, August 10.

The deal involves an initial season-long loan with an obligation to buy Jean-Clair Todibo for £34.22 million in 2025.

After signing the deal, Todibo expressed his excitement about playing in the Premier League, stating that it’s a dream come true to play in the best league in the world.

“It is a dream come true to play in the Premier League, the best league in the world,” Todibo said.

Interestingly, West Ham United outbid Italian giants Juventus for Todibo’s signature. Todibo, who has recorded two senior caps for France, is expected to bring a fresh defensive prowess to West Ham’s lineup.

Todibo, who began his career at Toulouse’s academy and later joined Barcelona in 2019, has since had loan spells with Schalke and Benfica before joining Nice permanently in 2021.

This signing marks West Ham’s sixth acquisition of the summer as the club’s technical director, Tim Steidten, seeks to reshuffle the squad following the departure of coach David Moyes.

So far this summer, West Ham have made significant investments in new talent, including Dutch forward Crysencio Summerville from Leeds, German striker Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund, midfielder Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras, defender Max Kilman from Wolves, and Argentina midfielder Guido Rodriguez.

In a strategic move to strengthen their defense, the Hammers are reportedly in talks to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United. The talks have been progressing well, according to reports.

West Ham’s upcoming Premier League campaign is set to kick off on 17 August, with a match against Aston Villa.
