Wisdom For The Day Devotional 2 May 2024 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Don’t Be Docile

TOPIC: Don’t Be Docile (TREM Devotional 2 May 2024)

“But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, before Baal-zephon.” Exodus 14:9 KJV

MESSAGE:

According to the scriptures, God’s people were miraculously delivered from the bondage of the Egyptians after four hundred and thirty years. They had successfully left Egypt after four hundred and thirty years of brutal servitude. Their deliverance did not happen ordinarily. God moved on their behalf.

The devil, however, doesn’t give up easily. You see, the fact that God has made a promise to you, and that promise is sealed in the blood, doesn’t mean it will just happen. The devil doesn’t just give up. He always has a penchant for coming back.

Though God’s people had been brought out of Egypt, the enemy still went after them. You must understand that this is one of Satan’s strategies. He does not just go away. After the temptation of Jesus, the Bible says: “…The Devil retreated temporarily, lying in wait for another opportunity.” Luke 4:13 (MSG). This statement implies that he is coming back. So, you cannot afford to be docile. When you understand that there is an adversary that is relentlessly pursuing you, you will not be indifferent about your Christian faith. This is not the era when you just fold your hands and pick and choose the things that have to do with God.

This is the time to become intense and violent. The enemy has come out with all his arsenals, and he is brutal. He is not joking. The entire world is in the cup of trembling. The world is shaking in different areas of life. Therefore, you must put on the whole armour of God. There is no time. Jesus said, “Watch and pray”. It is not the time to sleep. Only the violent will take it by force.
