Recording Academy® voting member, Tito Da. Fire reissues “MAJEKAJA” one of Nigeria’s Afro-fusion and what later became globally known as Afrobeats’ definitive pioneer releases that helped shape the early propagation of the genre Twenty-One (21) years ago. MAJEKAJA, originally released in 2003 as a follow-up to “Seun Rere (It’s gon’ be alright), Tito Da. Fire’s first single along with partner Mickey of the duo Gent2Men spent numerous weeks at the top spot on numerous charts including MTN Nigeria Top 10 and was in the Top 5 of the best 10 songs of 2003.

The song also spawned several weeks on Rhythm 93.7 FM’s Top Ten and eventual Top 3 spot on 93 Best Songs of 2003 on Rhythm FM Countdown, it also held a spot on the top 10 on Ray Power FM’s 100 Best Songs of 2003. In Tito Da.Fire’s words: “Majekaja remains a love and unification theme, that propagates oneness devoid of fights”.

As Afrobeats and the various shades such as Afro-pop, and Afro-fusion take centre stage globally, MaJeKaJa is a resounding theme of how far the journey has grown.
