Police Arrest Two Men For Robbing Commercial Sex Workers In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two men for allegedly robbing three commercial sex workers.

According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command’s spokesperson, the suspects picked up the victims on August 23, 2024, around 4:30 pm from Adeniran Ogunsanya Street in Bode Thomas, Surulere, under the pretense of seeking their services.

The suspects claimed they were taking the women to a location where they were supposedly staying. However, they suddenly stopped the car midway and demanded that the victims hand over their valuables.

The suspects took two iPhones valued at ₦1.05 million, a REDMI Note 12 worth ₦140,000, and an iPhone SR valued at ₦240,000 from the women. Additionally, they forced the victims to transfer ₦25,000 and ₦8,000 to an Opay account.

During the investigation, the suspects confessed to the crime. The police recovered the suspects’ vehicle, a Toyota Camry with registration number APP335 JA, along with two blank number plates used in their operations.

One of the stolen phones, a REDMI Note 12, was also recovered. The investigation is ongoing.
