Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro congratulated Rivers United for making it to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
Rivers United earned a berth in the money-spinning stage of the competition after beating Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso 2-0 on Sunday.
Alex Oyowah scored twice for Stanley Eguma’s side at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
Peseiro took to his X handle to celebrate the former Nigeria Premier Football League champions.
“Congratulations to Rivers United on making it to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage. Best of luck in the competition!” He posted.
Rivers United made it to the quarter-final stage of the competition last season.
