Paris Olympics 2024: France to play Spain in men’s football final

France will play Spain for the gold medal in the men’s football event at the 2024 Olympics.

The hosts came from behind to defeat Egypt 3-1 in the second semi-final of the competition.

Mahmoud Saber opened the scoring in the second half, before Jean-Phillipe Mateta equalized late in the game.

Mateta put France ahead in extra time, before Michael Olise capped off the win with a smart finish.

In the first semi-final, Juanlu Sanchez grabbed an 85th minute winner, to seal a 2-1 win over Morocco.

Morocco led 1-0 at half-time, after Soufiane Rahimi converted a penalty in the 37th minute.

Spain levelled in the 65th after Fermin Lopez fired a left-footed shot low into the bottom corner.
