In an interview on the Zach Sang Show, Omah Lay discussed the incident, stating that he had initially planned to create an album with a new sound, but changed his mind after the other artist released their album using his idea.

He expressed his frustration with the situation, but remains confident in his upcoming album, which he believes will be a significant contribution to Afrobeats history.
