A media personality Gimba has narrated how he had to go to great lengths to retrieve a pen worth over £1,000 given to him by a friend.

I used a friend’s ballpoint pen to fill out a form and casually handed it to someone who asked to use it. I never bothered to ask for it back. The owner, too, didn’t ask for it until today, two days later, and I playfully offered to just get him another. That’s when he explained that it’s a Montblanc pen, and late my words instantly.

l also didn’t pay attention to the brand of the pen, and even ifI had, I would’ve assumed it’s an imitation since the owner never struck me as someone with a taste for luxury items, let alone a pen. I had to remember whom I passed the pen to, and he, too, said he gave it to someone, offering to just get me another.

I explained that we were talking about over a thousand pounds. Pound of what?” he said. Pound sterling, ” I said, laughing. “It’s a Montblanc.”

“Why didn’t you say so when you gave it to me?” he said, and then he asked for some minutes to reach out to whom he gave the pen as well.

He found the last person to hold the pen through a series of calls and referrals, and they had to go to an office in a different district from where the pen exchange occurred on this sultry Sunday to look for what we had all assumed was an inconsequential office accessory. They found it.

But even the security guards at the location they found it were disappointed that they were there all because of a pen.
