Transfer: Man Utd defender close to leaving Ten Hag’s side

Manchester United defender, Brandon Williams, is close to leaving the club on loan to Ipswich Town.

According to Fabrizio Romano, negotiations between Man United and Ipswich are ‘advancing’ with the Championship side pursuing a loan deal with the option to buy Williams.

It has been clear for some time that Williams is not in Man United manager, Erik Ten Hag’s plans this season.

The 22-year-old is one of many outcast players expected to leave Old Trafford before the summer transfer window closes.

He is behind the likes of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia in Ten Hag’s pecking order of left-backs at Man United.

Williams burst Into the scene under former Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2019.

Many thought the full-back had a bright career ahead of him but a mix of injuries and a drop in form have hampered his development at Old Trafford.

Williams’ contract is set to expire next summer but he has the option for a one-year extension.
