A group of protesters are attempting to block a coach sent to collect asylum seekers and take them to the Bibby Stockholm barge.

At least a dozen demonstrators have been spotted in Peckham surrounding a coach on all sides before it was able to pick up any passengers.

It is believed the coach was set to collect eight asylum seekers living at a Best Western hotel in the south-east London borough.

The asylum seekers had apparently been told they would be collected on Thursday morning by coach to relocate to the Bibby Stockholm moored at Portland in Dorset.

Protestors surrounded the coach immediately after it had pulled up on Peckham Road bus stop on Thursday morning.
