Prince Harry will not see King Charles during his visit to London for an event marking a decade of the Invictus Games.
A spokesman for the Duke of Sussex said this was due to his father's "full programme" and that he "hopes to see him soon".
The statement responded to "speculation on whether or not the duke will meet with his father while in the UK".
It has been confirmed that Prince Harry has now arrived in the UK from his home in the United States.
"The duke of course is understanding of his father's diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon," said a statement from Prince Harry's spokesman.
His brother, Prince William, the Prince of Wales, will also not be at the service for the Invictus games, which will be held at St Paul's Cathedral in London on Wednesday.
Last week, the King began a return to public engagements, having had to avoid crowds and public meetings while he underwent cancer treatment.
Prince Harry was last in the UK in February to visit the King shortly after he was diagnosed with cancer.
