Kylie Jenner stuns in an elegant champagne gown, pared-back make-up and no jewellery at the Met Gala - so, is it a sign that things are still going strong with Timothee Chalamet?

Kylie Jenner showcased her pared back style as she opted for a classic Hollywood glamour look at the star-studded 2024 Met Gala on Monday evening.

The reality TV personality, 26, turned heads as she showed off her hourglass figure a in a champagne-colored Oscar de la Renta gown with a retro bullet bra bodice and a fluffy train.

However the billionaire let her dress do the talking as she opted out of wearing jewelry, slicked back her brunette locks and donned a soft and dreamy makeup look.

The beauty, who is dating Timothee Chalamet arrived on the red carpet with her beau, but some wonder if he is the inspiration behind her new classic image. 

It comes after whispers that the 'Kylie effect' could be damaging to Timothee's 'indie boy' brand among fans. 

For fashion's biggest night this year, she went for subtle makeup, opted out of eyelash extensions and she topped it all off with bright pink blush and peachy nude lip.

The Kylie Cosmetics founder's dark brunette hair was pulled back into a tight updo and her bouncy ringlets were pinned with fresh flowers.

For jewelry, she opted out of a necklace to let the unique bust and neckline of her dress be the center of attention and she wore just a pair of dainty stud earrings.

Later, the beauty mogul posed in front of a forest-inspired backdrop to showcase her look with the full half-moon train on display.

Her flattering, bridal look highlighted her hourglass figure and accentuated her curves.

In contrast Kylie donned a fiery red skin tight Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture gown to last year's fashion extravaganza, which featured a sizzling thigh-high split. 

The showstopping gown featured an ice blue satin lining and a long train that could be picked up and used as a cloak. 

The mother-of-two donned full hair and makeup glam and was laden with multi carat diamond rings. 

The Costume Institute's spring exhibition falls on the first Monday in May every year and is held at New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art.

This year the event is titled Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion while the dress code is The Garden of Time.

However Kylie's actor beau Timothee Chalamet was not in attendance last night and the business mogul arrived with her sister Kendall Jenner. 

It's not the first time that the reality TV star debuted her 'soft girl era' look as she was  unrecognisable at Paris Fashion Week in an ethereal strapless gown with a cascade of tousled curls and pale glowing skin in the manner of a Boticelli painting.

Kylie surprised fans at the Jean Paul Gaultier show in the French capital, in a corset mini dress with flowing champagne tulle layered over the top, and her artfully mussed-up bedhead looked rather like a longer version of her boyfriend Timothée's Indie boy curls.

It was quite the style transformation for Kylie, who is usually all lip filler, pneumatic curves, contouring and skimpy clothing. 

However she is not the first Kardashian to change her image to match her man after her sister Kourtney ditched her cutesy style to go full rock chic after hooking up with Travis Barker.

Meanwhile, Kim underwent a style transformation in 2012 after meeting Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, ditching over-the-top prints and accessories for skin tight, muted tones. 

Kylie channeled a high fashion look, looking angelic in a strapless dress with soft pleats. To top off the elegant ensemble, she added a pair of very Cinderella-esque clear heels.

And fans were quick to notice the star's 'soft girl era' look as she showcased her new pared back style for the first time, ditching smokey eye makeup and fake lashes for a minimalist glow.

The natural moment from the Kylie Cosmetics founder is quite a contrast from some of her more over-the-top looks.

And perhaps it's no coincidence that the style switch has happened since she sparked up a romance with Chalamet, 28, given the Indie darling and the reality star make such an unlikely couple.

Speaking to FEMAIL brand expert Emily Austen previously explained that the 'Kylie effect' could be damaging to Timothee's brand among fans.

'Timothee has charmed fans with his rise to fame and his unorthodox perception of Hollywood,' she said.

'He's very much the under dog story, French, (Europeans are sexy), see doesn't have the Hollywood "look" - muscles, build, fashion sense.

'He has feminine energy, dresses energetically, and shuns the traditional trappings of celebrity culture. The has given an endearing sense of curiosity into his personality.

'His girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, couldn't be more opposite. She's all but grown up on television, sharing every intimate detail of her life, business, bank balance, routine and journey to motherhood.

'She lives, unapologetically, in the public eye, and sits outside of the credible, Hollywood acting scene. Although incredible successful in her own right, she is not without her criticisers, who challenge her choice of career, as an influencer' she added.

'The Kylie effect could be damaging to Timothee's credibility amongst fans, but likely won't impact long term deals and film success.'

But if Kylie's image change is here to stay, perhaps he doesn't need to worry about alienating his loyal fanbase.
