Nigerian rappers, Falz and Vector team up to bless music lover with a brand new song title, “YAKUBU“. This record is a follow up single to Falz’ song with Tekno- ‘O Wa‘. Ó wà is an exclamation used by passengers within the Nigerian Transport system, predominantly in Lagos state, to signify when they have arrived at the right bus stop, and are ready to alight.
The new song “YAKUBU” is about the just concluded 2023 election which took place on the 25th of February in Nigeria, Falz and Vector join forces to send a message to the chairman of INEC (Independent National Electoral Commission).
Mahmood Yakubu (born 1962) is a Nigerian academic and current chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Mahmood was appointed to office by President Muhammadu Buhari on 21 October 2015, succeeding Amina Zakari, who served as acting chairman. He was in-charge of the 2023 election and announced APC Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President-Elect.
Falz who was active during the election, questions INEC Chairman’s judgement on the concluded 2023 election. He called him out for manipulating the 2023 Presidential result which everyone felt it was in favour of Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
