EFCC Arrests 24 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Benin

The operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 24 suspected internet fraudsters during a coordinated operation in Benin City, Edo State capital.The arrests were made based on actionable intelligence regarding the suspects’ involvement in computer-related fraud activities.According to the EFCC post on X, the operation targeted different locations within Benin City, where the suspects were apprehended.During the raid, the EFCC operatives recovered 11 exotic cars, laptops, and mobile phones suspected to have been used in carrying out fraudulent activities.Additionally, the sum of N160,000.00 (One Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira) was confiscated from one of the suspects.The EFCC disclosed that the suspects have provided useful statements to aid the ongoing investigation.Once investigations are concluded, the suspects will be charged to court to face prosecution.The anti-graft agency remains committed to combating internet fraud and other forms of financial crimes across Nigeria.
