The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday said President Muhammadu Buhari has written seeking confirmation of members of the governing board of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, NDIC.
Senate President, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan read the letter which was dated March 15, 2023, on Tuesday after resumption of plenary from election break.
The letter reads: “Pursuant to Section 5 (4) of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation Act, I forward herewith for the confirmation of the Senate, the underlisted names of the newly appointed members of the Governing Board of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation. Their CVs are therein attached.”
The President expressed optimism that the upper legislative chamber will give diligent consideration to the task.
The nominees include the chairman, Hon. Abdulhakeem Mobolaji (South-West) and members Prof. Osita Ogbu (South East), Umar Jubril (North Central), Mohammed Haruna (North East), Yesmin Dalhatu (North West), Simon Ogie (South-South) and Abimbola Olashore (South-West).
