Brentford 1-2 Aston Villa It was reported that Kamara headbutted someone, but now I’m reading that he shoved Yegor Yarmolyuk in the neck. Either way, violent conduct = Christmas off a three-match ban.

Villa’s improbable title challenge continues thanks to a late comeback in an increasingly wild game at Brentford. The match changed when Ben Mee was given a straight red card for a very poor tackle on the substitute Leon Bailey. Soon after, Bailey made the equaliser for Alex Moreno, and Ollie Watkins headed the winner against his old club in the 85th minute.
That wasn’t the end of the action. Bailey almost scored an absurd own goal from the halfway line (apparently) and Boubacar Kamara was sent off for putting the head on someone.

West Ham go above Manchester United and Brighton after a counter-attacking clinic at the London Stadium. Lucas Paqueta was wonderful and made all three goals, two for Mohammed Kudus and one for Jarrod Bowen.
RED CARD! Brentford 1-2 Aston Villa
90+7 min Boubacar Kamara has been sent off, so it’s ten-a-side at Brentford. Emi Martinez tried to start a riot by manhandling Neal Maupay, and he almost succeeded. In the ensuing melee Kamara apparently stuck the head on a Brentford player.
90+1 min: West Ham 3-0 Wolves Bellegarde is okay to continue.
88 min: West Ham 3-0 Wolves Coufal catches Bellegarde in the face with a reckless challenge, limbs flailing everywhere, and is booked. Bellegarde looks concussed and is being checked by the medical staff.
Coufal caught Bellegarde just before half-time as well. He wasn’t even booked for that one.
GOAL! Arsenal 2-0 Brighton (Havertz 88)
Kai Havertz continues his excellent recent form and seals a deserved victory for Arsenal. The substitute Eddie Nketiah put him through on goal with a simple angled pass and Havertz drove a low shot past Verbruggen.
GOAL! Brentford 1-2 Aston Villa (Watkins 85)
Ollie Watkins may have scored the winner against his old club! Ramsey’s low corner was helped on at the near post by Kamara, and Watkins reacted smartly to plant a header into the net from six yards.

Villa are level, and they’ll fancy their chances of stealing all three points against Brentford’s ten men. Alex Moreno, recalled today because of Lucas Digne’s suspension, got round the back to head Leon Bailey’s lofted cross past Mark Flekken from eight yards. That’s a good finish.
GOAL! West Ham 3-0 Wolves (Bowen 74)
A hat-trick of assists for the outstanading Lucas Paqueta. Jarrod Bowen, who has been a constant menace in his new position up front, played a slick one-two with Paqueta, scurried into the area and guided a low right-footed shot into the far corner. The placement of the shot was immaculate.
73 min: Arsenal 1-0 Brighton It sounds like Arsenal are still well on top at the Emirates. Ben White almost made it 2-0 with a header that was cleared off the line by Lewis Dunk. If it stays like this it will be their fifth 1-0 win of the season in the league.

65 min: West Ham 2-0 Wolves Matheus Cunha shoots just over for Wolves, who have been much better in the second half. That said, West Ham know their way around a low block and seem pretty comfortable shuffling back and across.
64 min: Arsenal 1-0 Brighton Roberto De Zerbi make a triple change on the hour, with Joao Pedro, Facundo Buonanotte and Igor Julio on for Evan Ferguson, Adam Lallana and James Milner. But they still haven’t had a shot at goal, and it looks like their run of victories at the Emirates is coming to an end.

Gary O’Neil’s hate-hate relationship with VAR continues. Pablo Sarabia has had a goal – a lovely team goal at that – ruled out for a Spandex-tight offside. It took a couple of minutes before the goal was disallowed.

Luton have posted an update on their captain Tom Lockyer, who suffered cardiac arrest during yesterday’s game at Bournemouth. In short, there is no fresh news as they are waiting on the results of various tests and scans.
While our captain Tom Lockyer remains in hospital following the cardiac arrest he suffered on the pitch at Bournemouth yesterday, we understand that supporters are concerned for him and that there is widespread media interest in his condition.

Gabriel Jesus finally makes Arsenal’s dominance count! Saka’s inswinging corner was inadvertently headed on by Steve Bould a Brighton defender at the near post, and Jesus, unmarked beyond the farp ost, stooped to nod into the empty net.
