32-year-Old Jilted Man Allegedly Kills Ex-Lover’s Two-Year-Old Son In Fit Of Rage

A devastating incident unfolded in Zengeza, Zimbabwe, yesterday when a 32-year-old man, Simbarashe Ashton Machipisa, allegedly killed his ex-partner’s two-year-old son, Truth Maphosa, in a violent outburst.Machipisa, known locally as Mabhutsu, reportedly went to the home of his ex-partner, Nomsa Sengwe, 32, a hairdresser, in search of her after she spent the night with a new partner. Sengwe had recently ended their relationship due to Machipisa’s violent behavior.When he found Sengwe absent, Machipisa allegedly strangled the two-year-old boy and then brutally threw the child against a wall in the presence of Sengwe’s other five children, aged between four and fifteen. The children’s cries for help alerted neighbors to the tragic scene.A neighbor intervened, restraining Machipisa with a chain until police arrived. The suspect was reportedly beaten by local residents before being taken into custody. Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed Machipisa’s arrest and detention at St. Mary’s Police Station.In a tearful statement to H-Metro, Sengwe expressed deep regret over her past relationship with Machipisa, recounting his increasing jealousy and violent tendencies, which ultimately led to their separation.Sengwe described several abusive incidents, including physical assaults, public humiliation, and Machipisa’s destructive behavior, such as burning her belongings and stalking her new partner. Sengwe revealed that she had spent the night with her new partner, leaving her children unsupervised, which tragically resulted in the death of her young son.
