President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday thanked former Permanent Secretary, Oyo State, Pa Gabriel Olanipekun Abe for his service to Nigeria.
In a statement by his spokesman, the president greeted the former official on his 100th birthday.
Buhari rejoiced with family and friends of the ex-public servant who retired in 1978 after reaching the peak of his career in public service in 1976.
The Nigerian leader congratulated the centenarian for his pacesetting records in school and work.
He said Pa Abe distinguished himself in all undertakings and leaving a legacy of honesty, diligence and sound administration.
The President commended the celebrant’s wise counsels to leaders, in both the private and public sectors.
Buhari prayed for good health and more strength for the former Permanent Secretary.
